01About Hobifi
Hobifi ("Hobifi", "we", "us") is registered in Egypt under Commercial Registry No. 60294 (Tax Registration No. 782-674-437), at 11 Sphinx Square, Agouza, Giza. We run hobifi.com and the Hobifi mobile app (together, the "Platform"), where people can discover and book hobby classes, workshops and sessions ("Classes") run by instructors, studios, academies and other businesses ("Providers").
Our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy form part of these terms.
02Our role and the provider's role
Hobifi is a technology platform that connects you with Providers. When you book, the Class itself is provided by the Provider, not by Hobifi. Providers are independent businesses and are not our employees or agents.
- The Provider is responsible for the Class: its content, quality, venue, safety, equipment, qualifications, and delivering it as described.
- Hobifi is responsible for running the Platform, showing Class information as the Provider gives it to us, taking your booking, collecting payment on the Provider's behalf, processing refunds under our refund policy, and helping resolve problems between you and a Provider.
We review Providers before listing them and ask them to keep their information accurate, but we cannot attend every Class. If something isn't as described, tell us and we will step in (see section 6).
03Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book a Class.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date, especially your phone number and email, so we and your Provider can reach you about bookings.
- Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it happened because of our failure. Tell us immediately at info@hobifi.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
- One person, one account. Accounts can't be sold or transferred.
04Booking a class
Before you confirm a booking, the Platform shows you the Class details, Provider, date, time, location, total price and the Provider's cancellation deadline. A booking is confirmed only when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation in the app or by email. That confirmation includes the booking details and the terms that apply to it, so please keep it.
If you made a mistake in your booking, you can correct or change it by contacting us or the Provider. Changes depend on availability and the cancellation deadline.
Some Classes have extra requirements set by the Provider, such as minimum fitness, equipment to bring, or a dress code. These are shown on the Class page and are part of your booking.
05Prices and payment
- Providers set their own prices. All prices are shown in Egyptian pounds (EGP) and include applicable taxes. If a service or booking fee applies, it is shown separately before you pay.
- Payments are processed by a payment service provider licensed by the Central Bank of Egypt. Hobifi collects your payment on the Provider's behalf and passes it to them, less our commission. We never see or store your full card details.
- We issue receipts as required by Egyptian tax rules.
- If a price is clearly wrong because of a technical or typing error, we will tell you and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.
06Cancellations and refunds
Each Provider sets a cancellation deadline, shown before you book. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the details. In short:
- You cancel before the deadline: full refund.
- You cancel after the deadline: a partial refund or no refund, depending on the Provider's stated terms.
- The Provider cancels or significantly changes the Class: full refund, or a free switch to another date if you prefer.
- The Class wasn't delivered as described: contact us within 7 days. We will investigate, may hold the Provider's payment while we do, and will refund you in full or in part where your complaint is justified.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 7 days of approval, unless we agree a different method with you. Your bank may take a few extra days to show it.
07Attending classes
- Arrive on time. A Provider may refuse late entry if it would disrupt or endanger the Class, and that counts as a missed booking.
- Many hobbies, such as boxing, dance, fitness, climbing and pottery, involve physical activity, tools or materials. Follow the Provider's safety instructions, use equipment properly, and tell the Provider before the Class about any injury, health condition or pregnancy that could affect you.
- Take part only if you are fit to. If you're unsure, ask a doctor first.
- Treat Providers, other participants and venues with respect. A Provider may ask you to leave if you behave in a way that is unsafe, abusive or illegal, and in that case no refund is due.
- Your personal belongings are your responsibility at the venue.
08Reviews and content
You can leave reviews and ratings after a Class. Keep them honest, based on your own experience, and free of insults, hate speech, personal data of others or advertising. You keep ownership of what you post, but you give Hobifi a free, non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform and in our marketing, with your first name. We may remove content that breaks these rules or the law. We don't edit reviews to change their meaning, and Providers can't pay to remove them.
09Things you must not do
- break any Egyptian law, including Law No. 175 of 2018 on Anti-Cyber and Information Technology Crimes;
- use someone else's account or payment card without permission;
- book Classes to resell them, or arrange to pay a Provider outside Hobifi for a Class you found on Hobifi in order to avoid our fees;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against Providers or other users;
- copy, scrape or reverse-engineer the Platform, or try to access parts of it you aren't authorised to use;
- upload viruses or anything that harms the Platform or other users.
10Hobifi's content and brand
The Hobifi name, logo, map icon, illustrations, app design and software belong to Hobifi or its licensors. You may use the Platform for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not use our brand or content without written permission. Class descriptions and photos belong to the Providers who supplied them.
11Responsibility and liability
- We work to keep the Platform available and accurate, but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.
- Because Providers run the Classes, the Provider is responsible for any injury, loss or damage caused by the Class, the venue or its equipment, except where Hobifi itself was at fault.
- Where we are responsible to you, our liability for a booking is limited to the amount you paid for it, as far as Egyptian law allows.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited under Egyptian law.
12Suspending or closing accounts
You can close your account at any time from the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, is used for fraud, or that we are legally required to close. Where it's safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Upcoming bookings on a closed account are cancelled and refunded, unless the account was closed for fraud.
13Waitlist and newsletter
Before launch, you can join our waitlist or newsletter with your email address. Joining is free and doesn't create a booking or account. Any launch perk we announce will come with its own conditions, shown when we offer it. You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Hobifi grows or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Bookings you already made stay under the terms that applied when you booked.
These terms are available in Arabic and English. If the two versions differ, the Arabic version prevails.
15Complaints and governing law
If something goes wrong, please contact us first at info@hobifi.com or +20 104 262 3634. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them as quickly as possible.
You can also contact Egypt's Consumer Protection Agency (hotline 19588). These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the competent Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
